Our Story

UK Cervical Cancer is a small but passionate not-for-profit powered by a team of volunteers who are committed to creating awareness of cervical cancer and its prevention in the UK and developing countries where women and families are disadvantaged.

The Trustees for UK Cervical Cancer came together after realising they shared a mutual desire to see more done for vulnerable women impacted by cervical cancer. Instances of cervical cancer have shown to be more common in areas of disadvantage where lack of access to the right information and resources is limited – just one reason why cervical cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths for women in developing countries. In knowing this, UK Cervical Cancer Trustees saw the increasing need for support and decided it was time to offer support to these women directly.

In only a short amount of time UK Cervical Cancer has made significant strides both nationally and internationally; from delivering the UK Comfort Checklist for Women that helps to provide a more comfortable screening experience, to helping to facilitate vaccination and screening programmes in Nepal and Bhutan. However there is still a lot more work to be done, and through education, promotion, fundraising and support, UK Cervical Cancer hopes to one day see a world free from cervical cancer.
